Norwegian Air Announces New Flights from Canada to Europe and French Caribbean Islands

Norwegian Air announced brand new routes today from Canada to Europe and the French Caribbean islands.

Introductory fares from Montreal to Guadeloupe and Martinique will start from $219 CAD one way and $478 CAD roundtrip.

This route starts up October 29, 2018, and will operate 3 times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays, seasonal flights only. The Boeing 737-800s will be used on their Caribbean flights.

Introductory fares from Hamilton to Dublin start from $279 CAD one way and $568 CAD roundtrip.

This route starts up March 31st, 2019 and will operate daily and year round. The Boeing 737-Maxs will be used for their Dublin flights. Norwegian Airlines is a low-cost carrier which means they charge for a checked bag and seat selection. Their fares only include 1 carry-on bag is included (max weight is 10kg or 22 lbs – dimensions 55 x 40 x 23 cm). Free Wi-Fi is also included. The cost of a checked bag is $50 CAD each way.

Our two cents

With more competition, expect lower prices to Europe and to the French Caribbean Islands. However, these introductory fares are pretty disappointing and a lot higher than we expected. Just yesterday, we just posted a deal from Toronto to Dublin for $374 CAD roundtrip with Aer Lingus. In the future, we expect them to drop their pricing to at least $99 CAD one-way just like they’ve done in the past from the U.S to Europe and Caribbean.
