We went to Orlando in January 2018.
Both Rishi and I absolutely loved our stay at the Hilton Orlando. It’s a great hotel and we highly recommend it.
We stayed on the 15th floor and I was shocked to see the size of the suite. The room we stayed in had a full living room with a full size desk as well as a sink above the mini fridge.
Separated with double doors is the huge bedroom. I can definitely say it was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. There’s a TV in the bedroom as well as the living room. The bathroom was a standard size hotel bathroom, but what I liked about it was their massage soap bars; it was a first time I’d seen something like that!
My first tip when it comes to food and drink is go to the local 7-eleven to purchase water. The water in the room costs $3 per bottle. We had breakfast twice as the Bistro on the lower lobby and both times were delicious! It is continental buffet style but with much better presentation and freshness than most hotel breakfast buffets. There were fresh fruits from pineapples and strawberries as well as a “make your own” parfait station with endless options. There were fresh breads and croissants, as well as newly baked goods. Fresh lox and other charcuterie were also an option. There was also a cook ready to make your custom eggs order. You can upgrade your breakfast for a cost, if you want an omelette, bacon and sausages.
We also ate lunch at Tropics Pool Bar & Grill where the burgers were delicious. We had some appetizers at Dave’s Club Bar & Grill. The atmosphere there is great for sport events. The’ve got huge TV’s and lounge style couches.
Hilton Orland felt like a full resort to us. We spent some time swimming at the huge pool and slide. Rishi’s favorite part was their lazy river! We probably went on it 3 times! There’s plenty of chairs around the pool so we had no trouble getting a good spot.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the fire pits they have on in the evenings. It’s perfect for when it gets a little chilly at night. We made some s’mores which they provided in our room equipped with the long sticks to roast marshmallows.
There’s a great lobby bar, a marketplace that sells Starbucks coffee, a steakhouse, and a fitness centre and spa which we didn’t have time to experience.
The hotel caters to many company conferences that come through which is great since it felt more of adults vibe. Even though the hotel seems great for families, we didn’t notice that many kids around.
The service was impeccable. We had a warm welcome at check-in. Housekeeping cleaned our room twice in a day, once while we were at the pool and again when we went out for dinner, leaving us chocolates by our bed. All the servers we had from breakfast, to lunch, to the apps at Dave’s Club were extremely professional and pleasant. There was always someone at the parking gate to help if your key card wasn’t working. The thing we noticed the most and even though everyone had great customer service, there were still a few ladies walking around surveying and making sure everyone was satisfied. You can tell they really cared.
We had a blast at the Hilton Orlando, so much so that we cancelled a day out of activities so that we would have more time to spend at the hotel! We hope to be back next time!

On our last couple of nights in Orlando Rishi and I stayed at the very unique and amazing Balmoral Florida!
At Balmoral Resorts Florida, you don’t stay in a single room at a hotel. You rent out a full house. Houses are all owned by Balmoral Resorts and serviced and cleaned by them.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house. It had a full kitchen and dining table, living room area, and a pool. The house was too big for just us two but it would have been perfect for a family. They provide all the dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, and a whole lot more. They also provided a batch of eggs, bread, peanut butter and jelly, milk, orange juice and ham as well as 1 load worth of laundry detergent. The house felt brand spanking new. It was extremely clean. The bedrooms were carpeted which added a level of coziness. All 3 bedrooms came with a Smart TV as well as the living room. The furniture was modern and pretty. We were beyond comfortable.
Balmoral Resorts is less than a year old and everything is and still feels brand new. There a new houses being built today. We felt very safe because the houses are inside gated community. They provide you the number to open the gates to enter the grounds a day before check in. The whole area is very beautiful with the typical Floridian green grass and water fountains on their multiple lakes which the houses surround. At the clubhouse is where the reception desk is as well as a game room, the fitness center, the Grill and a very great pool lined with palm trees. They also have a jacuzzi and small water park for the kiddies.
We ate at the restaurant a few times, once we ate by the pool and the other time, we picked it up and brought it back to our house. Food was delicious and fresh and best of all, cheap! Nothing was priced more than $12 with the majority of dishes priced only at $9. Their drinks were also the cheapest we saw on our whole trip! They had drink specials where you can get a can of Guinness for only $3 and Smirnoff Ice for $2!
We definitely want to come back here and bring a group. It would be a perfect cheap sun getaway!

We stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa for two nights. We were going to Disney World for one day so it was perfect since they offer a free shuttle to Epcot (just be sure to book it the day before). The suite was enormous! It was larger than our condo back home. It was a full out apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining table and kitchen. The master bedroom alone is the size of a regular hotel room. It came with a jacuzzi tub which we used to soak our tired sore feet after a day at Disney. The furniture is a bit outdated but the bathroom was modern and the bed was very comfy. They have a great pool with a full size pirate ship that acts as a waterslide. We got a massages and pedicures at Reflections Spa which we highly recommend. The girls there gave great service. The resort is great for shopping as it’s located walking distance to an outlet mall.

We stayed at B Resort on our last night in Orlando and we had a great time. The room is modern and clean. They have all Aveda products in the bathroom as well as a Aveda salon inside the resort. Try getting a high floor room as you might be able to catch the fireworks from the theme parks nearby. We missed out on that as we had booked a dinner show. The resort is within the Disney Springs area so the hotel takes a special fee. Also keep in mind the parking is not free. There’s a great pool and bar outside as well as a couple of restaurants which looked very appealing.
